The buckled belt is the change. It draws the waist in and gives the skirt a small, deliberate gesture at the front, the way the French do it: one good detail, nothing else competing. Everything you already know about the Yumi is still here — the high waist, the soft pleats that swing when you turn, the concealed pockets, the full lining — but with the belt, the same skirt stands differently.

Rose Garden began as a rare 19th-century lithograph by the nurseryman Henry Curtis, found in the New York Botanical Garden archive. Liberty’s studio reworked it into a large-scale repeat, roses blossoming over a soft textural stripe.
